bowl corrections
The Hawaii Football Club said after meeting with the Big Island Interscholastic Federation, the league said “according to Department of Education policies, athletes will not be able to borrow equipment from the schools.”
An earlier story reported that the BIIF did not agree to that policy of allowing the league’s players to use school equipment. The HFC also announced that those who provide their own equipment will be given a group discount.
The showcase senior bowl game will be held Dec. 6 and will feature players from the Big Island, Maui, Kauai, Molokai and Lanai.
The registration fee for a high school senior was $50, but senior participants selected to the Bowl game will be asked to participate in a fundraiser that would waive their registration fee. Registration does not secure a spot. All players must be screened by a selection committee.
